Wrinkle relaxing
Wrinkle reducing therapy is very popular treatment which involves a small amount of Botulinum Toxin A (such as Botox®/Vistabel®/Azzalure) being injected into selected muscles using a tiny needle. This relaxes and retrains the muscle reducing existing lines and preventing additional lines from forming.
Who would benefit from this treatment?
Generally anyone can benefit from it. If dynamic wrinkles (lines from laughing, smiling, frowning etc) make you feel and look older than you are botulinum toxin can smooth these out and give you a more youthful and pleasing appearance.
How long does the treatment take?
Most treatments take around 20 minutes and the effects start to appear usually from 3 days. The full extent of the treatment may not be visible up to fourteen days after the treatment. We always recommend a complimentary two week check up for those new to this treatment.
Is the treatment uncomfortable?
Extremely small needles are used and only small amounts of the treatment are administered. There is usually very minimal discomfort and it does not last very long. Occasionally some experience a mild headache which is temporary ( a couple of days)
With no recovery time and rarely any side effects most people return to normal activities immediately afterwards.
How long will the effects of this treatment last?
The effects of the treatment typically last between 3 - 4 months. Gradually the effect will wear off and at this stage you can return to us for another treatment and with repeated treatment the effect lasts longer.
We treat conservatively aiming for a natural but relaxed look.
How long does the treatment take?
Most treatments take around 20 minutes and the effects start to appear usually from 3 days. The full extent of the treatment may not be visible up to fourteen days after the treatment.
How much does it cost?
It is priced according to the number of areas treated. The frown lines between the eyebrows are one area, the horizontal forehead lines (when you raise your eyebrows) are another area and the crow’s feet aroundboth eyes count as one area. Other areas (such as the chin)are charged at £50.
The price includes the follow-up 2 weeks later and any supplementary treatment that may be required on that visit.
Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid which is something we naturally have in our skin which attracts water and therefore helps keep it plump.
How does it work?
As we grow older this substances reduces and we develop lines. Dermal fillers reintroduce the hyaluronic acid back into the skin. By placing it under the wrinkle it instantly helps plumps it out, making it disappear.
Where do you have them?
Fillers are ideal for correcting the hollow cheeks and thinning lips that occur with facial ageing. In addition to redefining lips and cheeks they can smooth facial lines and wrinkles as well as improving skin structure and hydration. They are highly effective in treating deeper facial lines, particularly naso-labial lines; these are the deep furrows that extend from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth and marionette lines that extend from the corners of the mouth to the jaw line which can make us look sad. They are also a great alternative to wrinkle reduction therapy when treating forehead frown lines.
What will happen during the treatment?
Following a thorough facial analysis and detailed discussion of the proposed treatment plan, the treatment can be started straight away. The gel is injected into the skin in small amounts with a very fine needle, immediately lifting and smoothing out wrinkles with the natural volume it provides.
How long does the treatment take?
Treatment time is approximately 30 minutes.
How long will the treatment last?
This will vary as it depends on factors such as a person's age and lifestyle, the structure of the skin, and the degree of correction required. Generally most clients choose to have a repeat treatment within a year, since the main component of the filler is hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance that is re-absorbed naturally by the body over time.
Does it hurt?
The dermal fillers we use are market leading brands, both FDA approved –Juvederm® and Restylane®. They have a small amount of local anesthetic in them which gently numbs the area being treated. Any discomfort felt should be minimal to none.
What are the possible side effects?
Immediately after your dermal filler treatment there may be a little swelling. The changes you will notice immediately may seem more significant than expected. This is normal. After a few days the swelling will go down and you will see the final result. Patients may feel a little pain at the treatment site. You may also feel slight hardness to the treated area. This will reduce after approximately one week.
What do I need to do after the treatment?
Gentle massage of the treated skin is beneficial. However, you should not touch the area for at least six hours following treatment.
The correct massage techniques will be demonstrated during your consultation.
How much does it cost?
The price of treatment does depend on how much dermal filler is required to help you achieve your goal. However, you would always be given the cost of the treatment at your consultation. But a guide would be for naso-labial lines (lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth) is from 1ml to 2ml depending on the severity of the wrinkle. Volumising of cheeks is £600 but this can last between 18 months to two years.
Lips tend to be around £250 -£300.

Hyperhidrosis
What is hyperhidrosis?
It simply means excess sweating and is more common than you think but it can be incredibly embarrassing. Treatment of this condition really can be life changing for men and women.
What is the treatment?
Using a very fine and small needle Botox® is injected into the armpit in about 10-15 places. The Botox® stops the nerve signals that control the sweating which temporarily stops the sweating for about 6 month
Does it hurt?
The needles are so fine there is minimal discomfort and there is no recovery time needed.
How long does it take?
Treatment time is about 30 minutes..
Who can have it?
Obviously if you suffer from underarm sweating this is an ideal solution. And can transform your life. However, we have clients that have had this treatment prior to weddings or an important night out or even a business meeting.
What happens if I decide to stop treatment?
The effects are completely reversible. If you decide not to have further treatment, sweating will just gradually return to the level it was before the treatment
The Genuine Dermaroller
How does it work?
The treatment involves the Dermaroller being rolled over the problem area to produce thousands of micro-medical needle punctures in the skin. This is done in a very safe and controlled way and is not deep enough to elicit a scarring response however it will cause the body to have a milder healing response. The nearby tissue is broken down and new elastin and collagen are formed. This way scarring, lines, wrinkles and pigmentation are all gently removed, being replaced over time with new scar free skin. The depth of needling is controlled to achieve the best result – going sas deep as1.5mm on the face, which has proven successful in removing scars, and 3mm on the body for scarring and stretch marks.
Is it painful?
No- but it can be uncomfortable. We always numb the skin with local anaesthetic cream which takes about 3-40 minutes to work.
Are there any side-effects?
The treatment is safe, effective and natural. You are quite red after the treatment Generally this subsides after 2 hours and disappears by the next day. Two weeks of a Vitamin C serum are needed prior to treatment and six weeks of using sunblock post treatment which we provided.
Who would benefit from it?
It is excellent for tired skin, skin that is losing its smoothness and plumpness or becoming slack around the mouth and jaw.
Dermaroller appears to be of significant benefit in improving skin tone and evening out colour. It can improve fine lines and shrink pores.
Stretch marks have been improved as has scar and acne tissue.
How many do I need?
Generally three sessions are recommended six weeks apart. However one treatment may make a significant improvement although with acne scarring five treatments is more realistic figure.
How long before I see an improvement?
It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
Skin tags and cryotherapy
Skin tags are also known as fibro-epithelial polyps or achondrochordons which sounds dangerous. However they are harmless and do not become cancerous!
They present as soft lumps attached to the skin by a stalk. Usually they are the same colour as your skin, under 0.5 cm in size, and often develop in the armpits, neck and groin.
Around 50–60% of people over the age of 50 have them although, younger people can develop them as well and they sometimes run in families.
They may look unsightly and can be a nuisance as they often catch on clothing or jewellery.
However, cryotherapy is a great treatment to remove skin tags quickly and easily.
It is liquid nitrogen and is extremely cold. When sprayed on the skin the top layer rapidly freezes. Initially after freezing the site may look red and a little swollen and it may sting and itch. Expect the site to look worse over the next couple of days before it gets better,
Swelling and/or blistering often develop within a couple of hours after treatment. 2-3 days after treatment a scab will probably form which can take up to 7-10 days to fall off leaving a pink smooth area. Remember it is only a very small area that is being treated.
The area may get wet with normal bathing or washing. If a blister or scab does occur do not remove it-allow it to heal on its own.
If crusting occurs, apply Vaseline after gently cleaning it twice a day. There is no need to cover the area unless it is for your own comfort because it is in an area that tends to catch.
